Senior Golf Association of Kansas City Metro

SENIOR GOLF ASSOCIATION MEMBERS
With our recent and current weather it might seem like our golf league is a long way off in the future.
The reality is that our opening meeting is only a little over two months away on April 10th 2019.
As we wait and prepare I would like to alert and update our association on a few important items for 2019.

-
If your e-mail or phone number has changed please contact us ASAP to make the necessary changes. VERY IMPORTANT
-
If you are not receiving any e-mails or newsletters from SGA please check your Spam file and if needed
-
make the necessary changes to allow our e-mails to reach your inbox.
-
With the development of our new Web Site, it is important to become familiar with SGAKC.ORG. It will become our go to place for contacting the SGA. It will contain all of the information you will need throughout the season. Any changes or cancellations will need to be directed through our Web Site. You can do it on your smart phone or computer. We hope and think it will avoid any confusion on who, what and where to go for SGA communication. One place to communicate.
-
We ask all members to let us confirm their tee choice. Either the front or regular tees.
-
Please review our SGA rules of play as well as the new changes in 2019 golf rules.
-
One of the biggest changes in 2019 is the ability to leave the pin in while putting on the green. While many will choose the leave the pin in, others will want it out. We will see how this works through out the playing season. Several studies have statistics that indicate that leaving the pin in will result in a higher percentage of putts made or left closer to the hole. It also indicates that overall play is faster.
-
2018 a major success when it came to playing time for our rounds. The overall average for twelve rounds was around four hours and thirty minutes. Our goal is to maintain that pace in 2019. It is up to each group to police their players. Please be mindful of the rules and need to be courteous to other players and groups. Our SGA has a Great group of golfers who enjoy golf and have fun playing. Please report and concerns to me or one of the officers.
-
Our league is limited to 160 players. After that those wanting to play will be put on a waiting list. At this point we already have 158 paid members. We only have room for two more to fill our limit.
2019 should prove to be a Great Golf Season for our league. We have 12 excellent courses contracted to play and we recently confirmed our dates. We hope the weather clears up over the next couple of months for at least a few local rounds. Please stay in touch and check your e-mails for any updates or SGA newsletters.
Have a Save and Warmer rest of the winter season.
Jerry Pater,
President SGA 1-26-19
